Kathleen Lake passed away on 27th September, 2006 aged 67 in Leeds. A special sister to Ron, Mother
to Donna, Diane, Dean, Duane and Dawn. A very special mum mark 2 to Sharon, granny to Hayley, Kylie,
Damon, Rio, Zakk, Connor, Foster and Riplea, and great granny to Molly, Tiaygah and Harvey. Kath
passed away a short ilness that she fought very bravely in hospital.
My granny was a very lively character and was never one to keep things to herself!! She liked to
speak her mind and I think thats why I loved her so much and where all her family got it from. She
was very well known in the area, probably because shed had a few words with more than a few people,
but this was the kath we all knew and loved. Like she always said, she was never going to change.
My granny meant alot to me, she was one of the bravest people i know, she went through alot but she
always came out smiling and joking! I always remember my granny tormenting me and my brother with a
stick when we were cheeky to make us laugh, because my granny always liked to see people laughing.
She was always joking around, sometimes shocking people who didnt know what to expect from such a
small woman. I miss my granny alot and I know all my family do, its the little things I miss about
her and that I notice now that shes gone. I know shes still here watching us all though like she
said she would be. I feel her near me all the time, and Im grateful for that because I dont ever
want to let her go. Please feel free to light a candle for my granny " The Lady Of The
Lakes".
Somebody once called my granny an old, frail lady, to which she replied " I might be frail and
I might be old, but how dare you call me a LADY?" He got it so wrong didnt he granny??XXX
